This Charming, remodeled island home sits on a large lot in the heart of Old Town Port A right off of the Ferry. It is within walking distance of restaurants and shops and a mile from the beach. Great for a couple or small group. This property features two bedrooms (BR1) & (BR2) both with queen-size beds and one bath with a tub/shower combination and sliding frosted glass door. (BR1-Queen, BR2-Queen); There is also a futon in the living area that folds out to provide more room for sleeping arrangements for a total of 5. Full kitchen with Keurig-compatible coffee maker cookware and utensils to accommodate your cooking needs. Both bedrooms have sliding glass doors to provide access to the balcony to sit and enjoy your morning coffee or to just relax at the end of the day and soak up the view of town. There is a large yard for children and pets to play, a charcoal grill for dinner and entertaining, and an outdoor shower for rinsing off after a day at the beach. TV in the living area and complimentary WIFI. Bring your family and the boat and enjoy everything Port A has to offer.

Clean, Cozy and Comfortable! We Enjoyed staying at the Deckhouse! Perfect for 3 or 4 Adults for a 4 day getaway. Close to everything in Old Town Port A. We rented a golf cart, Plently of parking too. Thanks!

The flooring sunk in in several spots and the shower door and shower head could’ve been replaced due to the doors constantly falling off and the shower head being so old. Other than that it was a good stay.

Our overall experience was fair. The best feature of this property is the large drive way that could accommodate our trailer for the golf cart, along with a clean up station for washing off sand, and a laundry room at the bottom floor. However, in the actual house the floors were sinking in as you walk, and felt generally unsafe. While the house was pet friendly, and had a large yard for our dogs, the grass was full of stickers and could not really be utilized as intended. Management company was great and professional.

Last year we stayed here and said the home needed lots of improvements. It has recently had a new roof, new kitchen cabinets and the deck rebuilt so we gave it another try. The location and layout of the house are great, with lots of parking and storage areas. We had room outside for a boat and two cars with space behind the boat to store bulky ice chests and fishing gear. Unfortunately it still needs a little more work. Some of the lights (kitchen, closets) don't work, the dishwasher didn't clean, the ceiling fans are a bit complicated, chairs on the deck need replacing and the laundry room was stuffed with old cabinets and broken furniture. I think it is a good home and the price is right, but would like to see a few more improvements before I stay there again.

Just what we needed

The deck house was just what we needed! The location is close to everything - we bicycle to most places, and we rented a beach cart to ride to the beach. Our 2 little dogs were welcome and the yard was tidy. The house had everything we needed, but you might want to bring an iron to touch up clothing, and if your plan to stay long term, you might want a few items for the kitchen. There are dishes and flatware for about 8, enough pots & pans, a few cereal bowls and 1 big salad bowl. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom spacious for a small house and LOTS of big, thirsty towels! The house was clean and smelled so nice! This was our 5th trip to Port Aransas and the deck house was the best place we've ever stayed. We didn't get to enjoy the nice back porch, or front porch as much as we would have liked because it was pretty hot and humid. The house is just exactly what its description says. So you can be comfortable and enjoy your stay. We really liked it all. Denise, thank you again, for your help. Our son and his wife joined us for an over-night stay and we were all very comfortable. We hope to return. By the way, the A/C worked very well in the high heat and humidity.

This was our second year to stay here, and we really enjoyed it. We noticed they had updated the cabinets in the house so that was nice! :) it's a great house for a small family. It will definitely sleep more then 5!

We enjoyed our stay at the deckhouse. It is in a good location, close to beach, restaurants, and shopping. Good price, clean, and friendly staff. The only negative was the condition of the house. It needs maintenance, it rained while we were staying there and the roof leaked in the kitchen. The leak was above the cabinets and there was mold and a bad smell coming from the cabinet. The beds were comfortable in the bedrooms, but the futon and day bed in the living area were old and uncomfortable. I would still stay here again but would like to see the owners invest in maintenance and upgrades. Nice property otherwise. Recommend for those on a budget.

The house does need some TLC but has a lot of things going for it. A nice layout, loads of storage space, a quiet neighborhood, an excellent location and a fair price. I would stay here again.

Overall we enjoyed our stay, but the house definitely needs some updates. We purchased linens for the beds because the ones provided were dingy and worn. Beds were also very small. House has a nice setup and is in an excellent location.

This owner should invest heavily in the property before they lose what value there is in it. Yes it is a beach town by the Gulf but really basic maintenance is basic to maintaining your property.
